Ian has been closely involved in the journey towards INPAS from the outset. While Chair of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB), he was instrumental in establishing the IFR4NPO initiative and from 2019 chaired its Technical Advisory Group, which oversaw the development of the first edition of INPAS. He became INPRF’s inaugural CEO in September 2025.
Previously, as Policy and Technical Director at CIPFA, Ian led its work on the UK Charities SORP and served for eight years on the UK Accounting Standards Board’s Committee on Accounting for Public Benefit Entities. He has also held governance roles with charities in housing and the arts.
